A. Knapsack sprayer
Put it on the worker's back during operation. The tank can be plastic or metal.
Common knapsack sprayers are
I. Hydraulic
ii. Manual pneumatic and
iii. Electro-pneumatic
i) Hydraulic knapsack sprayer
Manual operation, water tank capacity of 15 liters, mechanical or hydraulic agitation, constant pressure through the handle, especially suitable for small farmers on-site treatment and manual treatment. Equipped with a boom. Very suitable for blanket applications.
Disadvantages: These sprayers are installed on the backs of men. One-hand lever sprays 0.4 hectares/day, and boom sprays 0.8 hectares/day. This is a large flow sprayer, but a small flow nozzle can also be installed. The spray potential is 12kg/cm 2. Spray at an area of 3 to 4 kg/cm² to prevent spray drift.
ii) Pneumatic or compression system backpack
No pumping is required during operation/spraying. After filling the liquid to 2/3 volume with the built-in hand pump, pressurize the tank. A drop in spray pressure after a period of time will cause uneven spraying, so herbicides should not be used. Tank cleaning is a difficult task. Its usage is limited and can be used to spray weeds in rice and jute.
iii) Electric pneumatic sprayer
As a small volume sprayer, it is suitable for spraying concentrated spray liquid. An air stream passes through the jet stream of the delivery hose and nozzle tube, and ejects the jet liquid in this jet. The blast atomizes the spray liquid into fine droplets. Air acts as a carrier, and the faster the air is compressed, the higher the degree of atomization. These sprayers are also used as blowers. The sprayer caused a lot of loss of CPP due to wind.
The main advantages of backpack blowers are:
1. Low-dose spray. Save time filling the water tank.
2. Portable work.
3. Fast spraying.
Suitable for post-shift type. CPPs are small in size and the spraying of the backpack blower is uneven. Liquid-60 liters/ha of grass 7 to 8 m.
B. Foot sprayer/pedal
Pump sprayers are widely used in CPP applications and can be operated with feet. It provides 1–2 longer delivery hoses. Equipped with spray gun or 2-6 nozzle spray rods. Its potential spray pressure is 17 to 21 kg/cm2 output, and the spray gun is 1 hectare per day. It can spray a lot of spray and cover more area.
C. Traction pneumatic sprayer
Researchers at the Indian Sugar Cane Research Institute in Lucknow have developed a Brock pump sprayer with large and small nozzle booms, which is driven by the wheels of the frame. It is efficient, easy to operate and simple in structure. It uses two pneumatic pumps and produces a maximum pressure of 2-8 cm2, which is suitable for minimizing spray drift. Equipment covering an area of 2-3 hectares/day.
D. Sprayer installed on tractor
The spray pressure is 1.4 to 2.8 kg cm2 and it is equipped with a multi-nozzle spray bar, which is very useful for CPP applications in large-scale farms.
The sprayer with spray bar installed on the tractor is used to spray vegetation on the roadside. There are sprayers operated by tractors.
1. High uniformity of spraying machine.
2. High work efficiency.
3. The tractor has a high utilization rate when idling.
