The right way to install the chainsaw guide

Step 1: Place the different components (motor, saw chain and guide) on a clean, flat work surface. You can place some soft materials (such as carpet) underneath to avoid damage to the machine or the floor.

Step 2: To remove the sprocket cover, open the wing nut and then rotate it counterclockwise

Step 3: Turn the adjusting wheel on the guide wheel clockwise to the bottom.

Step 4: Be sure to wear gloves when touching the saw chain, because sharp teeth are very dangerous. Start picking up the chain and the guide, then hook the chain from the guide head to the guide. Make sure that the saw chain runs in the correct direction => (reference picture).

Step 5: Then rotate the saw chain until it is fully embedded in the guide rail

Step 6: Check again that the saw chain is correctly installed on the guide and the direction is correct. The cutting head should point towards the top of the guide plate.

Step 7: Pick up the installed chain and guide, and then wind the saw chain around the sprocket. Slide the guide onto the mounting nut.

Step 8: Replace the sprocket cover and insert all lugs into the holes.

Step 9: Put the wing nut until the sprocket cover is close to the engine casing. Do not tighten the sprocket completely.

Step 10: Turn the adjusting screw (in the direction of the guide head), the driving part should be located in the guide groove

Step 11: Tighten the butterfly nut. Close the wing nut until it is flat and the locking pin is completely fixed on the sprocket cover.

Step 12: Check the machine, and the chain card does not sag in the guide slot.

Step 13: Check if the chain is too tight. Manually rotate the saw chain in the driving direction (release the chain brake first, otherwise it will not rotate). It is important to wear work gloves to avoid injury from sharp chain contact. If the chain cannot move, loosen the wing nut and repeat the previous steps.

Step 14: Your chain saw is fully assembled. Now activate the chain brake again.
