How to use portable generator safely

Use a generator

Will need:

• Fuel (see generator manual)

• Engine oil (recommended by the manufacturer)

• cable reel

•Stabilizer

• Surge suppressor strip

• Insert any other row of sockets required for the eye device.

Start the generator

1. Fill the fuel tank and check the fuel gauge to make sure it is full. Consult the manual on how long the generator will run in a full tank.

2. Check the oil level. Only use oils of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

3. Start the fuel.

4. Turn on the choke. Use the butterfly valve only when the engine is cold.

5. Be sure to disconnect the voltage regulator from the cable reel. Connect the cable reel plug to the generator outlet

6. Move the generator rocker switch to the "open" position. Pull the start line toward you quickly. You may need to run multiple times before the engine starts.

7. After starting and stabilizing the engine, slowly move the throttle lever to the "closed" position.

8. Connect the voltage regulator to the cable reel socket and turn it on. Make sure that the cables are unfolded, that is, that all cables have been removed from the cable reel. This prevents overheating.

9. Connect the surge suppressor socket strip to the voltage regulator, and then turn it on.

10. Insert other plug plates. Now connect your ophthalmic device.

Stop generator

1. Turn off all equipment.

2. Close the surge arrester outlet plate.

3. Turn off the regulator.

4. Push the generator rocker switch to the "off" position to turn off the generator.
