Well, the weather outside is getting more and more frightening. To help you understand the four steps to winterizing your two-stroke engine, you can take a look at this simple weather checklist.
Step 1: Change the fuel.
You don't want to leave old fuel in your car all winter. Believe me. Drain old fuel into an approved container. When disposing of it, take it to the nearest service station or repair shop. Then press the primer bulb a few times to remove any remaining fuel from the fuel system. The fuel drains into the fuel tank, so all you have to do is fill it up. Now is a good time to check and/or replace fuel lines, primers and fuel filters. Please pull or click. shake them If the fuel contains ethanol, wear will accelerate, so check carefully. If it is hard, brittle, sticky or cracked. replace them.
The best option is to empty the fuel tank before the next use. However, if desired, the tank can be filled with fresh pre-mixed ethanol-free fuel mixture and the gas tank cap screwed on.
Step 2: Clean or replace spark plugs.
Remove the spark plugs and inspect them for signs of wear or debris. Clean if possible, replace if in doubt.
Applying a thin coat of recirculation oil to the screw at the bottom of the plug and ground lug reduces oxidation and rust during storage. A few drops of oil directly into the spark plug hole will also help protect the piston and cylinder. Reinstall the plug immediately.
Step 3: Clean or replace the air filter.
Check the air filter. Most foam filters can be cleaned, so if the filter is dirty, warm water and dish soap will suffice. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. If the filter cannot be cleaned or washed, or if the filter is worn, continue to replace it.
Step 4: (Chainsaw) Sharpen or replace the uanbuy chainsaw chain.
There is nothing more annoying than pulling out a chainsaw to saw off a fallen branch only to find that the chain has become dull or, worse, broken. Therefore, before storing the saw, sharpen or replace the chain.
Step 5: (Trimmer) Fill the trimmer spool with trimmer wire.
Are you ready for spring? Fill the trimmer spool with new thread of the correct size.
Step 6: (lawn trimmer) Replace the trimmer blade.
The trimmer blades are worn out. It is recommended to replace the edger blades annually. These are serious bombs.
